More on THE MONSTER’S CHRISTMAS:
Released in 1981, "The Monster's Christmas" is a bizarre live-action television special that has assuredly haunted the minds of both children and adults alike. Set in a whimsical world inhabited by lovable monsters that spew smoke, spin webs, and lead children to massive swamps of diarrhea, the story follows a young girl, “Girl,” as she tries to rescue the monsters’ voices from a witch who stole them after they mocked her karaoke skills (really, that’s the plot—an evil witch that can’t sing versus mutated Doctor Who-aliens).
Combining surprisingly creepy and well-crafted monster costumes that would make SUPER SENTAI proud and two of the worst original songs every recorded, “The Monster’s Christmas” really has to be seen to be believed. You can watch it now on Youtube, or—better yet—buy it from the folks at RIFFTRAX.com with their hilarious jokes embedded into the film (which makes it easier to ignore the fact that you can’t understand the lead character!)
